Updates
Important Update:
On August 28, 2026, Nurture Ohio will release the following updates.
- PRAF Updates
- "Prior and Current Perinatal Risks." question is adding the following, exclusive, non-matrix, options “This patient has been assessed for the above risks. No risk identified.” and “Unable to assess risk."
- "Patient would benefit from Managed Care and/or County Job and Family Services assistance…" question is changing the "No Needs Identified" option to “Assessment Completed - No Assistance Requested”.
- New question “Permission is given for text messages about WIC (please ensure cell phone number is listed on page 2 of PRAF)” with new export header TXTWIC.
- "My patient would benefit from a referral for Home Visiting." question text is updating to “My patient would benefit from a referral for Help Me Grow Home Visiting."
- "Permission is given for text messages about Home Visitation…" question text is updating to “Permission is given for text messages about Help Me Grow Home Visiting (please ensure cell phone number is listed on page 2 of PRAF)”
- ROP Updates
- New question “Permission is given for text messages about WIC." with new export header TXTWIC.
- Non-OBGYN users will access ROP forms based on their provider association in the PNM. They will be able to view both the ROPs they submitted themselves and any ROPs submitted by other users associated with the same provider.
On July 1, 2026, Nurture Ohio resumed the automatic Traditional Medicaid to MCO reassignment.
- NurtureOhio will periodically check for changes in coverage.
- If a patient has been reassigned from Traditional Medicaid to a Managed Care Organization (MCO), NurtureOhio will automatically update the patient's PRAF or ROP with the reassigned MCO information.
- Reassigned PRAFs and ROPs will be included in MCO exports, including the nightly file export.
On May 22, 2026, NurtureOhio was updated. The following changes were made:
- Referrals export will include additional columns:
- Patient MCO; Referral Status; Archived Referral; Service Provided by MCO; Name of Community Partner; More Information on Referral Outcome; Member received resources; Date Need Created; Date Need Completed; Date Need Last Modified; Date Referral (All Needs) Completed
- Data Dictionary changes
- Data dictionary is now available under each form Export dropdown
- Data dictionary modified to include Referrals export information
- PRAF/ROP
- Aetna MyCare removed from MCO dropdown selection list
- ROP Submitted Date locked at first date of completion
- ROP Last Modified Date updated with last edited date
- User Profile
- Remove 'Add Practice' functionality
- Main site
- New accessibility language in footer
- SFTP/Nightly exports
- Institutions receiving nightly files will receive the previous day's submitted and modified PRAFs and ROPs
As of May 1, 2026, the NurtureOhio website has moved to a new domain: https://nurtureohio.medicaid.ohio.gov.
Important Update: Multi-factor Authentication for NurtureOhio access begins January 5, 2026
Signing into NurtureOhio using State of Ohio ID (OHID) now requires multi-factor authentication (MFA). This added layer of security goes beyond using just your OHID and password by incorporating a second source of validation to verify your identity before granting access to state resources.
